South Florida QB gets Miami offer

The Hurricanes have offered a handful of in-state quarterback prospects and the most recent one went to a kid fresh off a state championship. Read on to learn more about him as a prospect and what Miami's chances are.

Daniel Parr from Dwyer High in Palm Beach says the Hurricanes offered him a few days ago.

He threw for over 3,000 yards and 36 touchdowns as a junior last season, compared to just six interceptions. His top receiver was former UM prospect Johnnie Dixon (who signed with Ohio State over Miami). Parr led his team to the Class 7A state title and was voted the 7A Player of the Year after the season.

He actually came to Miami's camp last summer and performed well, so he's been on Miami's radar for awhile now. Akron and Marshall were a couple of his first Division 1 offers and then Miami became his first BCS offer. It'll be interesting to see if the Canes continue actively recruiting him now that Dwayne Lawson is committed, especially in a year after taking two quarterbacks.

Parr has a lot of early interest in Miami but it's still early, and he'll likely attract more BCS offers in the coming weeks and especially into summer camp season starting in a few weeks.
