Canes land huge commitment

Miami's recent run of recruiting success continued Saturday when they landed a commitment from one of the state's premier prospects. Read on for more.

"I'm officially committed to the University of Miami," Dredrick Snelson announced this afternoon. ""The bond with the coaches is just unexplainable, and that's where I want to go, that's where I see myself."

At 6-feet and 195 pounds, Snelson is one of the state's premier overall prospects. He plays wide receiver for American Heritage High in Plantation and is part of the 2016 class.

Snelson put his name on the recruiting map with a strong sophomore season in 2013. He finished the season with 10 catches for 210 yards and three touchdowns in an offense that spreads the ball around nicely.

Snelson, who ran a 4.44 at a Nike event earlier this year, also had scholarship offers from schools like Florida State, Florida, Auburn, Clemson, and Nebraska.

He is now one of six commitments in what looks to be an outstanding 2016 class for the Hurricanes. He became the third wide receiver in that group, joining Dionte Mullins and Sam Bruce.
