Hutchinson (KS) C.C. defensive end Marquavius Lewis is one of the top junior college prospects in the country. He's a five-star prospect and has over 20 scholarship offers.
Formerly of Greenwood, South Carolina, Lewis recently told Scout he had a top five in no order of Arizona State, Alabama, Auburn, Miami, and South Carolina. He's already used two of his official visits on the Sun Devils and Hurricanes.
Lewis would also like to make a decision before the season starts, if possible. He'd like to focus on his final campaign at Hutchinson and not have his recruitment to agonize over.
The Hutchinson star took another step in that direction as he has scheduled his third official visit of the process.
"I'll be visiting South Carolina on July 25," Lewis told Scout. "I've already been to Arizona State and Miami and it's another school I wanted to check out before I make my decision. I've always wanted to play close to home so my family can watch, and that makes them appealing.
Lewis had not named a leader throughout his entire recruiting process, but that has changed. He's named a favorite for the first time.
"South Carolina is leading now," he admitted. "I have a good relationship with their coaching staff and it has continued to strengthen. I feel comfortable with them and what their plans are for me. I can't wait to visit."
