Muhammad talks about improvements

Quan Muhammad had a solid freshman season for the Hurricanes in 2013, and he explains here why he expects to be much improved in 2014.

On how he’s improved:
I’m working on running to the ball. I gained a lot of weight and I got faster. Last year I only played on third down because I wasn’t that big. I wasn’t ready to play every down.

On his speed:
My 40 time, I ran a 4.6. I can definitely run faster than that but it’s all technique.

On Ereck Flowers:
He’s definitely a tough guy to go against. I like going against him. He’s a big guy. He can get me better.

On what makes Flowers so tough:
He has really strong hands so it’s hard to rip off him and get off the block. It’s definitely great competition. We talk on a regular basis to see where I can improve and where he can improve. If I can go against him, I can go against anyone.

On other tackles doing well:
Sunny is really good. He’s chipping away and getting better. He’s firing off the ball. I just have to use my speed and have quicker hands than those guys to get off blocks.
