Duke updates his injury and more

Read on to see what Duke Johnson is saying about his injury status, getting more involved in different ways, the quarterback competition, and more.

On the first week of camp:
The first week was fun. We’re finally out here so it’s a good feeling. We are installing things and bringing new guys along.

On catching more passes:
I love it. Like I said before, anything I can do to help my team win. Coach Golden is doing great ways to get me the ball more in different ways. I sat down with coach before camp and we talked about things they want to try this year. It’s successful as of right now.

On his recovery:
Everything’s going as I planned, for the way I trained over the summer. Everything is going well now. I have the first week down and a couple more to go.

On the QB difference:
The biggest difference, I’d have to say Jake is more mature. It comes more natural. Brad has to transition to reading defenses. He just has to adjust to it.

On spreading the ball around:
Coach Coley and his staff will do whatever it takes to get their guys ready and in position to make plays.

On what stands out about Kaaya:
His maturity. When you look at him, you wouldn’t think he came out of high school. How he carries himself, you’d never think he’s a freshman quarterback.
