Golden: Jenkins injury not season-ending

Rayshawn Jenkins recently said that he will miss the 2014 season due to an injury. Al Golden said today, however, that Jenkins is expected to return sometime during the season. Read on for more.

Al Golden is a lot more optimistic about the injury to Rayshawn Jenkins.

"Let me get with Doctor but it’s not a season-ending deal," Golden said on Friday. "Does it mean three or four weeks? I don’t want to speculate."

Jenkins has been on the field coaching up the young safeties since the injury. Golden is encouraged.

"He’s doing good, out there coaching. He’ll keep his conditioning up."

Jenkins, who started 12 games last season, was expected to be one of the two starters at safety.

"Rayshawn was running with the ones with most of camp and I don’t want to rule anything out."
