Elder talks about cornerback competition

Corn Elder is one of five cornerbacks on the team competing for a starting job -- and it's very close. Read on to see what the talented sophomore is saying about it less than a week before the opener.

On the CB competition:
It’s a tight competition. We’re all out competing and having fun. There’s no hating. We’re all trying to work hard.

On where he’s playing:
Yes, field corner. Today, it was Gunter (starting). On the other side it was Tracy (starting) and then Artie. We all take reps and switch it up a lot.

On the recovery he made from last season’s injury:
It means a lot. It says a lot about our training staff. I’ve been trying to work hard.

On trying to be the starter:
Competition is very tight. All five of us can play, make plays. You can’t go wrong. We just have to keep competing every day to get better.

On his performance in the recent scrimmage:
I felt like I made the right plays, tackled well, and was in the right spot at the right time.
