On the offensive struggles on 3rd down:
It starts with me. Coaching, we’re allowing it to happen. We are coaching them hard. When we tally our third downs, we were 50 percent and we felt like we should be 100 percent. We have to do a better job and it starts with me.
On Brad Kaaya’s improvement:
He was a little better in the pocket. Sometimes watching you ask why isn’t he throwing the ball. A guy takes an extra step on his route. There is a maturity level with that that when things don’t work out with a certain route, Brad has to hold it. Some guys would force it. There were two interceptions in the game and I thought we could have made plays on those balls. A lot it is what’s going on with routes.
On the offensive inconsistencies:
I’ll say it again, it starts with me. It’s not on the kids. We have a young quarterback, a young right guard, and right tackle. They have to go out and play with Brad and the receivers have to play with him. At the end of the day, we have to get it done.
On his play-calling:
You have to get a feel for the game when you’re calling it. Guys are getting hit and the next thing you know there’s a turnover.
