Canes offer 4 star TE prospect

The Hurricanes offered one of the nation's premier tight end prospects on Wednesday. Read on for more on him as a prospect and what Miami's chances are.

Naseir Upshur is from Imhotep High in Philadelphia and was offered by Miami on Wednesday, according to Scout.com's Brian Dohn.

Nike numbers from the spring:
6-foot-2 and 222 pounds
4.47/shuttle
27-inch vertical jump
He didn't run the 40 at this event.

Upshur finished his sophomore season in 2013 with 8 catches for 155 yards and two touchdowns. He plays D=End as well and finished the season with 40 tackles, seven sacks, and one caused fumble.

He's already being recruited like a national prospect with offers from schools like Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame, Auburn, Michigan, Florida State, and now Miami.

The Canes are actually a bit late to the table with their offer. He hasn't talked too much about early favorites but Miami will need to get him on campus sometime soon or in the spring to have a chance. He's clearly one of the nation's premier tight end prospects in the 2016 class.
