Four Players Ruled out for Duke Game

A few Hurricanes have already been ruled out for Saturday's game against Duke. Read on for the report and what it means for Miami.

The school announced Thursday afternoon that offensive lineman Alex Gall, wide receiver Rashawn Scott, and kicker Matt Goudis will not play Saturday against Duke. The only other player on the injury list is safety Rayshawn Jenkins, who is out for the season.

Gall was real close to challenging Danny Isidora for the starting job at right guard. Despite not playing against Louisville, Gall played well in Miami's next two games before being ruled out against Nebraska. Isidora now has that job locked up pretty well.

Scott has been unable to go at all this season because of a shoulder injury. After a promising sophomore season in 2012, Scott has battled injury issues ever since.

Goudis' injury has been an issue all season. He tried to go against Arkansas State but was ruled out during pre-game warmups. He did not play against Nebraska. Instead, walkon Michael Badgley will handle the field goals and extra points. He connected on his lone field goal attempt last Saturday.

Chad Thomas was not listed on the injury report and the coaches expect him to go on Saturday after being a late scratch from last week's travel squad because of muscle spasms. The Hurricanes badly need depth and playmakers along the defensive line and Thomas helps provide that.
