Q&A with Phillip Dorsett

Read on to see what senior wide receiver Phillip Dorsett is saying a few days before the team's showdown against Georgia Tech.

On the near touchdown against Duke:
I ran a good route and I thought I caught it but I guess not. I just saw him say I was out and then I looked at the jumbotron and thought I was in. I heard everyone cheering and my teammates came running out so I thought it was good.

On the progress of the offense:
It’s getting there. We work a lot in practice, work hard for these ACC games. That’s all we care about. The offense is doing good.

On third down being an emphasis:
Of course. You have to execute. We have to work harder in practice at it.

On the return game’s struggles:
Guys just have to do their jobs. We gotta get a crease and take it. Everyone has to execute. That’s football.

On Stacy Coley’s drops:
Basically just keep working after practice, getting reps catching balls. I have all the faith in him that he’ll be fine. We work on extra catching, everything you can. It’s all about hand eye coordination.

On Brad Kaaya spreading the ball around:
There are a lot of good players who can get the ball in this offense so you’re used to it. You just have to be ready when it comes your way.

On Braxton Berrios playing well so early:
Oh yeah. I played in a hostile environment my first time at Maryland on a Monday night. I was the punt returner. You just have to be ready.

On Kaaya’s future:
He’s not even close to where he can be. He’s going to be one of those guys who will be special. I have a lot of faith in him.
