Golden talks scholarship numbers and more

Read on to see what head coach Al Golden is saying about the play of Dallas Crawford, the team's scholarship number situation, who they want to get the ball to more, and much more.

On Dallas Crawford:
He’s doing pretty darn good. He’s played a lot of football for us. He made a lot of big plays the first two days. He’s in the rotation. Deon’s a little ahead of him. He’s rotating with Jamal and Fentress at the other spot. He practices hard, doing well on specials. He’s exactly what we want.

On Georgia Tech having a bye last week:
I don’t have any comment on it. It’s about us getting ready and controlling what we can control. The schedule is not something I control. They understand the other team is fresh and we’ll have to play a very good game and execute in all three phases. We haven’t done that yet.

On the best guys after the catch:
Duke would be in there. Herb’s done a good job. Stacy should be. We need to get him doing that. That’s one of our challenges this week. Clive too because he’s so big. Joe Yearby is too.

On Tambu Fentress this week:
He plays linebacker for us in those situations and does a really good job.

On having 77 scholarship players:
We’re right around there. We’re working through it but we’re right around there.

On Phillip Dorsett’s big game against GT last season:
I hope he’ll have a big game. We didn’t get him the ball enough last week. He impacted the game in different ways. We want to get him the ball more. Brad is doing a good job distributing it and hopefully Phil will be a part of that.
