Canes set to take on unbeaten Georgia Tech

Miami beat Georgia Tech in each of Al Golden's first three years as head coach. Making it four straight won't be easy considering the Yellow Jackets are 4-0, coming off a bye week, and will be playing in front of a rowdy night crowd.

Miami started its Coastal Division play with a 12-point win over Duke last week. Next up is an unbeaten Georgia Tech team that is fresh off a bye week.

The Yellow Jackets will challenge Miami's run defense in a way that only Nebraska has. They rank 11th nationally running the football and they're led by quarterback Justin Thomas.

The talented sophomore leads the team with 443 yards on the ground and he's scored two touchdowns. He's also thrown for seven touchdowns and just one interception. Zach Laskey leads a deep group of running backs with 316 yards and two scores.

The only major pass-catching threat is DeAndre Smelter, who has 14 catches for 339 yards and four scores through the first four games of the season. He is, by far, their leading receiver.

Miami junior running back Duke Johnson was the star of last year's game and offensive coordinator James Coley will look to get him heavily involved early and often. Johnson, who ran for 184 yards against the Yellow Jackets last year, has 525 yards and five touchdowns on the ground so far this season. He's also added 110 yards receiving.

Both teams are 1-0 in the Coastal Division. Georgia Tech beat Virginia Tech a week before the Canes handled Duke. The winner of this game will join the winner of today's Pittsburgh/Virginia game atop the standings in the Coastal Division.

Tonight's game is set for a 7:30 kickoff on ESPN2.
