The Hurricanes were without safety Deon Bush last week because he suffered a hamstring injury in the second half against Florida State the week before. He's been very limited in practice this week and head coach Al Golden didn't sound too confident today.
"It’ll be close with Deon," Golden said. "Hamstrings are funny. You can get over it quickly or it can linger. We’re preparing for him not to go as we were last week."
If he's unable to go look for Jamal Carter to see a major increase in playing time like he saw last week.
Senior offensive lineman Jonathan Feliciano was injured late in the Virginia game but was able to finish the game. Although he's been a bit limited this week, Golden is confident he'll be fine Saturday.
"He’ll be fine by game day," he said. "It’s a wrist, thumb thing and we have to be careful with him."
The biggest injury last week occurred when junior wide receiver Herb Waters was taken to a local hospital with a neck injury. It was later announced that Waters suffered a strained neck. He has already been ruled out for Saturday.
"No but we’re hopeful (for the bowl game)," Golden said. "We’re waiting on the doctors."
UM will officially release their injury report tomorrow.
