Perryman Named All-American

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami senior linebacker Denzel Perryman was named to the All-America Second Team on Wednesday night.

Perryman, a 2014 Butkus Award Finalist, earned the Second Team recognition following another impressive season where he led the team in tackles (102) and tackles for loss (8.5).

His 343 career tackles rank among Miami’s Top 10 all-time.

The Coral Gables, Fla., native’s nod to the All-America team adds to an already impressive list of postseason awards.

Earlier this month, Perryman was named to the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association (ASCMA) and All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team.

Perryman will conclude his collegiate career on Dec. 27 as the Hurricanes faceoff against South Carolina in the 2014 Duck Commander Independence Bowl. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. EST on ABC.

More All-America teams are expected to be released in the next couple of weeks.
