Six recruits were expected to arrive on the University of Miami campus today for weekend visits. Lets take a closer look at all six.
RB Dexter Williams -- The 4-star prospect from West Orange High in Orlando committed to the Hurricanes way back in April when he attended the school's annual spring game. Despite the commitment, Williams has continued getting recruited heavily by other major programs. He took an official visit to Louisville last weekend and that's worth noting because he went with close friend and teammate Jalen Julius, a kid the Hurricanes are not actively recruiting right now. Williams remains solidly committed to the Canes, however, and this visit should shore things up. MIAMI'S CHANCES: 85%
WR Carlton Davis -- This Hurricanes offered this Miami Norland standout way back in the spring and he visited the school a few times over the summer. He committed to Ohio State back in August but the Canes have continued recruiting him. He came as a guest recruit to the Florida State game and is now on campus for an official visit this weekend. That means it's not over yet. It won't be easy flipping him from Ohio State but the Canes are definitely still in the mix and this weekend will be a big opportunity. He's also scheduled to visit Arkansas, where he's being recruited by Randy Shannon, next month. 20%
LB Charles Perry -- One of Miami's earliest commitments, Perry actually committed to the Hurricanes as a junior last year. The Royal Palm Beach High standout has remained solidly committed the whole time and hasn't visited any other schools, despite getting numerous major offers. 99%
CB Tim Irvin -- One of the state's premier cornerback prospects, this Westminster Christian standout landed a Miami offer very early in the recruiting process. He's a kid they've been recruiting hard all along and he's one of the first players Al Golden visited inside the home after the regular season ended. Irvin has taken official visits to Florida, Texas, and West Virginia. Miami will be his final visit this weekend since he's expected to graduate later this month and enroll someplace in January. Miami is in good shape heading into the weekend and I expect him to commit to the Canes soon after he leaves. 75%
CB Javarius Davis -- One of the top prospects in the Jacksonville area this year, this Ed White High standout made an early commitment to North Carolina. He backed off that pledge early in the season when he started getting other major offers. The Hurricanes offered him back in October and this will be his first official visit of the year. He doesn't have any others set yet but some other schools seriously in the mix are Florida, Louisville, and UNC. Since this is his first trip, it remains unclear which school he favors right now and he'll likely take a few more. 35%
S Jaquan Johnson -- One of the state's top safety prospects, this Miami Killian standout was offered very early in the process by the Hurricanes. He was recruited by a bunch of schools from across the country but committed to the Hurricanes back in August. He hasn't looked back since and hasn't taken any other visits. His pledge to Miami seems to be rock solid. 99%
