UM loses 4-star commitment

Miami's recruiting woes in recent weeks continued on Friday night when they lost a 4-star pledge who had been committed to them since April. Read on.

Dexter Williams committed to Miami on the day of Miami's spring game back in April. The 4-star running back prospect from West Orange High in Orlando took an unofficial visit to the school back then and decided that was best for him.

That's no longer the case, he announced on Friday night.

"I am officially decommitting from The U," Williams said. "Thanks for everything."

At 6-feet and 195 pounds, Williams was one of the state's most heavily recruited running backs this year. Despite making the early commitment to Miami, Williams has continued considering other programs. He took official visits to Notre Dame and Louisville in December.

Louisville is considered the favorite at this stage of the game.

Miami now has commitments from 4-stars Jordan Scarlett and Mark Walton -- and both players have other visits lined up for later this month.
