Here's the latest:
Walton remains committed to the Canes and visits here next weekend. However, Louisville and West Virginia have been recruiting him hard all along and he's scheduled to visit them the final two weekends of the month. Also, keep an eye on FSU because they're getting involved now too. I think he'll stick with his Miami commitment in the end.
Scarlett remains committed but is being heavily recruited by the in-state programs. He took in-season visits to Ohio State and Wisconsin but they're both out. Florida State is pretty much out as well. The biggest threat here is now Florida, led by former UM coach Randy Shannon. Scarlett visits UM next weekend followed by Florida on the 23rd. Although I'm not as confident with Scarlett as I am Walton, I do believe he'll stick with Miami in the end. He was out at the US Army Game last week actively recruiting players like Lawrence Cager and Marcus Davis to Miami.
Cronkrite de-committed from Miami when the Canes stopped recruiting him real hard during the season. That's when the Canes learned that Walton was re-classififed as a 2015 grad (he was originally going to be a 2016 kid). There simply wasn't room for four at the time so they cooled on Cronkrite. Now that UM lost Williams, Cronkrite is back in play. Because they cooled on him at one point, it's unlikely that he will reconsider. He's already visited West Virginia and Notre Dame. He is scheduled to see Louisville next. Florida could also get a visit. It appears to be between WVU and Louisville for right now.
Williams de-committed from Miami two weeks ago. That was a few weeks after visiting both Louisville and Miami. His best friend (Jalen Julius) took the Louisville visit with him and they plan on playing together in college. Miami never actively recruited Julius. Since he de-committed AFTER his Miami visit, it's extremely unlikely that he'll end up back in this class.
Jones started getting recruited by Miami late in the season when 4-star WR Davante Phillips started re-considering Miami again. The Canes seemed to believe they could get a package deal since the two are teammates and close friends. Phillips, however, committed to FSU a couple weeks after visiting Miami. After that happened and the package deal was off, the Canes cooled on Jones, who has now re-affirmed his original commitment to FIU.
Anderson is from Miramar and is still on Miami's radar. He committed to West Virginia back in the spring but backed off that decision. He hasn't taken any official visits and doesn't have any scheduled for later this month. He could still be a late addition to this class, especially if anything were to happen with the commitments of Walton and Scarlett.
