Canes set for massive recruiting weekend

The Hurricanes will have several committed players and several key prospects on campus for official visits this weekend. Read on for a complete run down on where Miami stands with each of them.

RB Jordan Scarlett -- One of the nation's most heavily recruited running backs, this 4-star from St. Thomas Aquinas High will be at Miami this weekend, Florida next weekend, and then Florida State on the final weekend. He's been committed to the Hurricanes since the summer but Florida is making a strong push lately.

RB Mark Walton -- A tremendous prospect from Booker T Washington High, Walton is solidly committed to the Canes but has visits to West Virginia and Louisville over the next couple weekends. Florida State is also starting to get involved.

WR Antonio Calloway -- One of the area's top wide receiver prospects, this Booker T Washington standout will begin his January visits with a trip to the hometown Hurricanes this weekend. He's also scheduled to see Auburn, Alabama, and Florida later this month. He's been very quiet about recruiting the whole time so the visits will likely play a big role in his final decision.

OL Fredrick Johnson -- A 6-foot-7 offensive tackle prospect from Palm Beach County, Johnson was originally committed to Virginia Tech but opened things up when Miami offered him in November. He is also scheduled to see Florida and Tennessee later this month but he's made it clear that Miami is the leader.

OL Tyler Gauthier -- A commitment since the spring, Gauthier has not taken any other visits.

OL Hayden Mahoney -- Just like Gauthier, Mahoney was an early commitment to Miami and no other schools are involved.

OL Tyree St. Louis -- After making a summer commitment, St. Louis still took visits to South Florida and Syracuse. They weren't able to change his mind though and he's firmly committed to the Canes.

DE Austrian Robinson -- A talented pass rusher from the state of New York, Robinson has already visited Maryland and they lead going into this weekend. He's also set to see Ole Miss and Ohio State later this month. We should learn a lot more about his interest in Miami after the weekend.

DE Jamie Gordinier -- A DE/OLB prospect from the state of New Jersey, this talented pass rusher committed early on and never wavered.

DE Richard McIntosh -- A commitment since the summer, McIntosh hasn't taken any other visits and doesn't have any others scheduled.

DT Kendrick Norton -- A talented two-way lineman from Jacksonville, Norton will see Miami this weekend but is still unclear about his other visit plans. Ole Miss, Auburn, North Carolina, UCLA, and Michigan are all in the mix for the final two visits.

DT Ryan Fines -- A commitment since the spring, Fines remains solidly committed to the Canes.

LB Saleem Brightwell -- One of the top linebacker prospects in the state of New Jersey, Brightwell has Miami and Pittsburgh at the top of his list. He's never been here before so the Canes will likely either take the lead or fall below Pittsburgh after this weekend.

CB Marcus Lewis -- Miami's been recruiting him very hard from day one and he's always had serious interest. The 4-star from Washington DC is also considering Kentucky, Washington State, and Texas.

CB Davante Davis -- One of the top defensive back prospects in south Florida, Davis is a one-time Syracuse commitment. He committed to Texas a couple weeks ago but is still considering the Canes.

S Robert Knowles -- A lightly recruited player from Miami, Knowles committed to the Canes after getting offered a few weeks ago. He doesn't have any other trips planned.
