At 6-foot-5 and 205 pounds, Hinson is a two-way standout from Deltona High in central Florida. He plays defensive end and tight end and says he's being recruited by the Canes to play tight end. He finished his junior season with five sacks on defense and had over 200 yards receiving with a pair of touchdowns. Iowa State was his first scholarship offer before the Canes came in with one a few days ago. He committed almost right away after landing the Cane offer.
James Wiggins was the second commitment of the weekend. At 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, Wiggins is a standout defensive back from South Dade High. He also plays wide receiver but is being recruited to play safety. The Hurricanes were his first offer a few days ago and he made the decision almost immediately.
The Hurricanes now have 15 commitments in the 2016 class.
