Canes land another local commitment

Miami picked up its 19th commitment for the 2016 class when one of the top pass rushers from South Florida gave his pledge to the Hurricanes. Read on for the details.

Joshua Uche says he committed to Miami earlier this week. He's an edge pass rusher from Columbus High in Miami.

Marshall, FAU, and Bowling Green were his first three FBS offers until the Canes came in with one earlier this week. He committed to Miami almost immediately.

Nike numbers from last spring:

shuttle: 4.42
Vertical Jump: 32.5
Power Toss: 27

Uche is fresh off a strong junior season at Columbus. His biggest role in their defense is an edge rusher, where he's able to utilize his quickness and beat opposing tackles and create noise in the backfield. Uche projects as a hybrid DE/OLB in Miami's current defensive system.

He becomes Miami's 19th commitment in the 2016 class -- the most of any program in all of college football.
