UM Lands 4th Commitment

Last week, I was the first to report that Darnell Jenkins was on the verge of committing to Miami. Well, on Sunday, the standout wide receiver made it official. He talks about his commitment, the Penn State game, and more in this interview.

"I'm definitely going to Miami," Jenkins said today. "I've been telling people I was about 80-percent sure, and I told you I'd tell you today. I'm 100 percent sure now."

At 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, Jenkins was outstanding in his season opener last Friday. He caught one touchdown pass for 25 yards, and also had a 35 yard run on a reverse. He also intercepted a pass on defense, and had a punt return touchdown called back for a penalty.

Jenkins says he really enjoyed last night's Penn State game. "It was a great game. It went just like I thought it would - Miami dominated. Their speed just overtook the game."

What was the final clincher in his decision? "I was pretty sure I wanted to go to Miami. So I sat down with my uncle a few days ago. He has helped me all through high school and has helped me make a lot of important decisions. We decided it was best for me to go to Miami. It's close to home, and they have a great draft rate for wide receivers."

Jenkins became UM's fourth commitment of the year, joining Emmitt Tatum, Antonio Reynolds, and Akieem Jolla.
