Georgia QB gets Miami offer

One of the top quarterback prospects in the state of Georgia was offered by Miami on Monday. Read on to learn about him as a prospect and to see what Miami's chances are.

Chase Brice announced today that he received an offer from Miami.

At 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds, Brice is a sophomore at Grayson High in Georgia. He started the final six games of his freshman season in 2013 and threw for 477 yards and six touchdowns. He became a full-time starter as a sophomore this past season and led his team to a 10-2 record and into the state playoffs. He threw for close to 2,000 yards, 21 touchdowns, and just six interceptions while directing a Wing-T offense.

Colorado State and Louisville were his first two FBS scholarship offers and Miami became his third on Monday.

On film Brice appears to have ideal size for a sophomore quarterback. It looks like he could end up being a 6-4/210 prototype by the time his senior season rolls around. He has a live arm that enables him to make just about any throw on the field. He can really spin it. He takes good care of the football too and seems to be a good decision-maker.

Brice will likely become one of the most heavily recruited quarterback prospects in the state of Georgia for the 2017 class. It's unclear how serious Georgia will go after him and after that Miami is in a good spot considering they offered him so early in the process and before all the SEC schools that will likely soon follow.

He's one of several 2017 QB prospects who now have offers from Miami. The Canes will need to make QB recruiting a priority in 2016 and it seems like they're doing the same for the 2017 class.
