Canes offer elite Tennessee LB

The Hurricanes have recruited the state of Tennessee sparingly lately. Corn Elder has been a good player from that state and now the Canes are back in there. They’re the newest offer for one of the state’s premier overall prospects.

“I want to thank The University of Miami for offer today,” Maleik Gray said yesterday.

Gray is fresh off an outstanding sophomore season in which he finished the year with over 150 tackles. He was even named to the Sophomore All-America Team by a few major publications after the season. He’s athletic enough to play on either side of the ball but is being recruited by most schools as a linebacker.

At 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, Gray already held offers from schools like Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Tennessee, and Florida State so the Canes are a bit late to the offer party, which might make it even more difficult for them to pull this elite prospect out of SEC Country.
