Texas RB nabs Miami offer

The Hurricanes have gotten more active in recruiting the state of Texas lately. Their latest offer went to one of the state’s top running back prospects. Read on to learn more about him.

“Blessed to say that I've received offer #5 from THE University of Miami,” Eno Benjamin said yesterday.

At 5-foot-9 and 190 pounds, Benjamin is a 2017 RB prospect from Wylie East High. He put his name on the recruiting map as a sophomore last season by running for 1,724 yards and 25 touchdowns.

He’s a bit undersized right now but he has plenty of ability. He’s able to make big things happen when his hands are on the football. He’s a skilled pass-catcher out of the backfield and can make a lot of people miss in the open field. What he lacks in the size/speed category he makes up for it with excellent quickness and vision.

Iowa, Kansas, Nevada, San Diego State and Houston are some of his other early offers so he’s not being recruited like one of the state’s best just yet. That could change but obviously if the UM coaches are sending this offer out so early then they must view him as one of the top running back prospects in the state of Texas for the 2017 class.

He took a Junior Day trip to Texas Tech a couple months ago but has never been to Miami so it’s still a bit early to tell what Miami’s chances will be – especially since schools like Texas, TCU, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma haven’t gotten seriously involved yet.
