6-5 OL lands Canes offer

Miami has yet to land a commitment from an offensive lineman in its large 2016 recruiting class but they do have one for 2017 and now they're trying to add more. Read on to learn about the latest prospect who was recently offered by Miami.

"I'm very excited to say that I just earned an offer from THE University of Miami," Blake Vinson said on Sunday.

Vinson is a 2017 offensive tackle prospect from Trinity Catholic High in Ocala. At 6-foot-5 and 270 pounds, he plays left tackle there. He's athletic enough to play on the left side and has good length -- especially for someone his age.

USF, FAU, and Vanderbilt were his first three FBS scholarship offers until Miami threw its name into the hat on Sunday.

He plays at the same school as Geron Christian, an offensive lineman in the 2015 class who was an early commitment to Miami last year before switching to Louisville after the season.

Vinson has taken a handful of visits including ones to Florida State, UCF, and Vanderbilt but he has yet to see Miami. Until then, it'll be tough to tell what Miami's chances are going to be moving forward.

Despite a big 2016 recruiting class in terms of numbers, the Canes are still seeking their first O-Line commitment. Kadeem Telfort is a 2017 commitment and now they're trying to add more. You can add Vinson's name to the board after this offer.
