Canes now chasing SEC OL commit

Miami is seeking its first offensive line commitment in the 2016 class. They just made another offer to an offensive tackle Tuesday - one who has been committed to an SEC school for awhile now. Read on to learn about him as a prospect and to see what Miami's chances are.

"Blessed to receive an offer from the University of Miami," said Landon Young on Tuesday night.

At 6-foot-7 and 270 pounds, Young is a 2016 offensive tackle prospect at Lafayette High in Lexington, Ky.

Young committed to Kentucky a long time ago, after camping there before his sophomore season. He's quickly becoming a major college prospect. Schools like Alabama, Ohio State, and South Carolina offered him earlier this spring and Miami threw its name into the hat today.

Young told Scout following the offers from Alabama and Ohio State that he remains committed to Kentucky but that he plans on getting out to see those other schools for visits. Considering he's been committed to the hometown Wildcats for a couple years now and considering that the competition now includes Bama and Ohio State, Miami's chances probably aren't too strong right now.

Miami has the biggest recruiting class in the entire country for the 2016 class but they're still seeking their first offensive line commitment. While Young isn't likely to become one anytime soon, you can add his name to the big board. We'll continue to watch him.
