Canes & Bama are elite DL's newest offers

Miami and Alabama are the two schools that just added their names to the offer list for an elite defensive line prospect in the state of Virginia. Read on to learn about him and to see what Miami's chances are.

Miami and Alabama are the two newest offers for Eric Crosby, according to Scout's Michael Clark.

At 6-foot-2 and 265 pounds, Crosby is a 2017 defensive line prospect from Ocean Lakes High in Virginia Beach, an area Miami's been quite active in so far this year.

Crosby put his name on the recruiting map with a strong sophomore season for a team that went 15-0 and won a state championship. That means he's coming from one of the top prep programs in the state of Virginia. Crosby had 137 yards and four scores rushing from the fullback spot. He also caught two passes for 30 yards. Defensively, while playing on the interior of the line, he finished the year with 27 tackles, 13 for loss, five sacks, three caused fumbles, and two blocked kicks.

Schools like North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Virginia offered him before the end of his junior season. He's since added offers from schools like Miami, Alabama, Ohio State, Tennessee, and Florida State which has made him one of the most heavily recruited 2017 defensive tackle prospects in the entire country.

He's never been to Miami before on a visit so it'll be important for the Canes to get him on campus at some point this summer if they want to remain in the race. He claims to have a relationship with the Bama coaches that extends back over a year now.
