Miami's search for more WRs continues

Miami has three wide receiver commitments in the 2016 class right now and they're trying to add more. The UM coaches have offered a handful of big receivers lately and the latest offer went to a kid who projects to play in the slot. Read on to learn about him as a prospect and to see what Miami's chances are.

"Blessed to receive an offer from (the) Miami Hurricanes," Jessie Britt said.

At 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds, Britt is a 2016 running back at Auburndale High. He is being recruited to play slot receiver at the college level.

Bowling Green and Western Kentucky were his first two FBS offers until Miami became his third last week. The Canes are his first BCS-level offer.

Britt put his name on the recruiting map with a strong junior season, in which he finished the season with 500 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns. He also caught 15 passes for 154 yards and three touchdowns. He also had close to 500 yards as the team's primary kick return specialist. Defensively, he finished the season with 28 tackles, one interception, and one caused fumble.

The only school Britt has visited this year is South Florida because of how close to home it is for him. He will likely end up taking a trip down here to see Miami at some point this summer. Based simply on his offer sheet right now, the Canes have to be considered to be in great shape. If he hasn't gotten other BCS offers by now, it's unlikely they'll be pouring in later.

The Canes have three wide receiver commitments in the 2016 class, including one from Sam Bruce who projects to play in the slot at the college level. Bruce remains committed but is still being heavily recruited by others. This offer means either the coaches don't feel great about Bruce or they plan on signing a pair of slot receivers in this class. They're also offering new 6-2+ receivers so they are likely looking to take 4 or 5 receivers in the 2016 class.
