Canes now in the mix for 6-foot-8 OL

This 6-foot-8 offensive tackle prospect from the state of Virginia now has over eight scholarship offers after Miami added its name to the list Wednesday night. Read on to learn about him as a prospect and to see what Miami's chances are.

"Both grateful and blessed to say I have received an offer from The University of Miami," said Zach Adams on Wednesday night.

At 6-foot-8 and 315 pounds, Adams is a 2016 offensive tackle prospect at Riverbend High in Fredericksburg, MD.

Kentucky, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, and Penn State are some of his other offers. Surprisingly, the in-state schools (Virginia Tech and Virginia) have not offered him yet, despite the fact he's taken visits to both schools. He's being recruited like a 3-star prospect right now. He'a also taken visits this year to schools like Texas and West Virginia.

Adams projects as a right tackle at the college level. He already has ideal size and length and plays with good technique but just needs to continue getting stronger. He seems to lack the ideal foot work to play left tackle at the major college level.

Adams has never been to Miami before so it's hard to tell what their chances are now that he has an offer from the Canes. Miami's coaches will likely try getting him on campus sometime this summer.

Miami is still seeking their first offensive line commitment in what's already a big 2016 class. Adams is now on the board, so he's someone we will keep a close eye on moving forward.
