UM is 1st BCS offer for south Florida QB

Florida A&M was first and now Miami is second in offering this quarterback prospect from south Florida. Read on to learn about him as a prospect and to see what Miami's chances are.

"Blessed To Say I Have Received My Second Offer From UM," said James Blackman.

At 6-foot-4 and 155 pounds, Blackman is a 2017 dual-threat quarterback prospect from Glades Central High.

He served as the team's third-string quarterback last season and finished the season with 0 touchdowns and one interception.

Blackman's first offer came from Florida A&M about a month ago. He claimed the offer from Miami following a strong performance at UM's 7on7 tournament this past weekend, where the coaches were able to evaluate him up close. The offer, if commitable, is likely to play another position.

Considering his only other offer right now is from FAMU, Miami is in the driver's seat early on. The Canes have been offering a very high number of quarterbacks in the 2017 class but they're still seeking their first commitment of a signal-caller in that class.
