Canes offer another QB

Miami's coaches have been busy all year searching the entire nation for quarterback prospects. They just offered another one this week. Read on to learn about him as a prospect, and to see what Miami's chances are.

"Blessed to have been offered by the U," said Tyler DeSue this week.

At 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, Desue is a 2018 quarterback prospect from Ocean Lakes High in Virginia Beach.

Nike numbers from the spring:
4.84/40
4.33/shuttle
28-inch vertical jump
28-foot power toss

Playing behind a senior on a team that went 15-0 and won a state championship in 2014, Desue finished the season 35-of-70 for 532 yards, eight touchdowns, and just two interceptions. He added 23 yards and one touchdown on the ground. He's expected to be the full-time starter there this season, and likely for the next three years.

Virginia was his first Division 1 offer, which makes sense considering he's close to them and he plays at what many consider the top prep program in the state of Virginia. Miami was his second offer, which could increase their chances down the road when a lot of other major programs come calling.

While the 2018 class is still a ways away, Desue is someone Miami fans should know because they'll likely be hearing a lot about him in the coming months (and years). Miami has a commitment from 2016 quarterback Jack Allison, who is one of the top-rated quarterback prospects in the entire nation.
