Bush: This is the healthiest I've ever been

Read on to see everything senior safety Deon Bush was saying following the first practice of fall camp on Thursday.

On the safety group:
It’s a real deep group this year. We have a lot of great safeties. It’s a pleasure working with them. We’re all going to get better and there’s a lot of great players out here.

On finishing 14th in total defense last season:
I’m not looking at numbers. Right now I’m just trying to see what our team can produce this year. Our main focus this year isn’t about the numbers. We just want to come out and do everything we can to win.

On the goals for the defense:
Whatever it takes to win. We all have to stop the team from scoring a touchdown. That’s the gameplan – do whatever it takes to win.

On the first day:
It was a good day. You see a lot of the young guys flying around, all the vets flying around. Everyone was bonding together. It was a good first day.

On being a senior now:
It felt good being here for the fourth time, being able to coach our younger guys. It’s just a blessing to be here and I’m happy to be here.

On the team chemistry:
I feel really good about this team, everybody bonding and this is the tightest we’ve ever been since we’ve been here. There is really no side stuff going on, everybody is focused on our goal and everybody is just looking straight forward.

On his health:
I feel better than I’ve ever felt in my whole career. I’m 100-percent right now.

On replacing Phillip Dorsett:
The receivers and tight ends look great out there. We have a lot of veterans out there, and we even have young guys that played a lot for us last year. A lot of those guys are really stepping it up.

On the biggest hurdle for this team:
I can’t tell you what our biggest hurdle is yet, right now we’re just trying to stay focused on winning and coming out here every day and putting 100-percent. Hopefully everything pans out how we want it to pan out.
