Michael Wyche was suspended on Wednesday following a domestic violence-related arrest early Wednesday morning.
"The University of Miami Department of Athletics is aware of the situation involving senior defensive tackle Michael Wyche. He has been suspended indefinitely and the department has no further comment at this time," the school said in a statement this evening.
At 6-foot-4 and 325 pounds, Wyche came to Miami as a Junior College transfer. A one-time USC commitment, Wyche was expended to make an impact right away in Miami's interior defensive line rotation. An Achilles injury prevented him from making a difference as a first year player in 2014. He played in Miami's first four games this season but has been unable to crack the rotation the last couple games.
His lack of playing time lately means this won't be a big loss for the Hurricanes but depth is always a plus, especially on the interior of the defensive line.
