Leggett Recaps UM Visit

As reported by CanesTime yesterday, Texas wide receiver Lance Leggett was meeting with UM head coach Larry Coker during an unofficial visit.

"The meeting went real well," Leggett, who made the visit with his father, said. "I just wanted to get a chance to meet and talk to him before I go back to Texas on Monday."

Rumors had been swirling about a possible commitment today. Leggett said that wasn't the case.

"I'm not really any closer [to a decision]," he said. "Miami's a great place. I love it there. I hope they win the national championship this season. I had a chance to meet guys like Roscoe, Frank Gore, Ryan Moore, players like that. I talked to Kellen Winslow a lot too today. They're all really focused."

Leggett, who considers himself a Florida kid, has lived in this state for most of his life.

"All my family is here," he said. "This is home to me. Just my dad and I moved to Texas last year but I'll probably be back."

Leggett said he wishes he had been to Miami's camp earlier this summer.

"Miami told me they plan on taking three receivers," he said. "They want me to be one of them. Some of the guys they're looking at really tore it up at camp I guess. I wish I had the chance to compete against them."

The talented receiver said even if he does realize where he's going, he wants to take it slow.

"Ryan Moore was telling me about it," he said. "He said even if I know where I'm going I should take visits and enjoy the whole process. That's what I'll probably do. I just don't know where I'm going yet but I do want to take another visit down to Miami later in the season."

Leggett listed Florida State, Florida, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, and Texas A&M as other schools under consideration. All of his favorites have offered him a scholarship.
