Marcell Southall is a huge visitor here this weekend. He's a DT prospect from Texas who has close to 25 scholarship offers. He's been to Texas and Oklahoma already and plans to see Ole Miss next weekend. Mark Richt and Coach Kool made a successful in-home visit with him earlier this week and now he's on campus for the weekend. He arrived around 1 pm and UM will have 48 hours to convince him to join this class.
Tyler Byrd is one of the best players in this class. A 4-star CB from Naples, Byrd flipped from Florida a year ago and has been solidly committed here ever since. He's considering taking a visit to Tennessee next weekend, something UM coaches will likely try to change over the next couple days.
WR Kelvin Harmon (NJ) is visited here this weekend. NC State (his recruiting coach is former UM coach George McDonald) and Rutgers are the top competition here. Miami will get its chance this weekend. The Wolfpack lead heading into the weekend. He visited there back in September and so his relationship with them dates back several months while Miami came into the picture just recently, which is odd considering how active the old staff was in Jersey.
Speaking of Jersey, another prospect from there who is visiting here this weekend is TE Jovani Haskins. At 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds, Haskins is down to three schools -- West Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Miami. The 3-star has already made visits to the other two schools and now this weekend is Miami's chance.
Henry Miller is a late addition to this weekend's visit list, according to Scout's Corey Bender. He's a 3-star safety prospect from Kissimmee. He committed to Pittsburgh last month but Miami and Ohio State (where he plans to visit next weekend) are making a late run at him. It's unclear how serious the Canes are about him but he's definitely worth watching since he's on a visit.
Randrecous Davis has been a UGA WR commit for awhile but Mark Richt and a couple of his other coaches went to see him this week and he's on a visit here. Scout's Chad Simmons seems to think it's only a matter of time before the 3-star WR flips his commitment to the Canes.
Malek Young is a US Army All-American cornerback prospect who was the first player to flip from UGA to Miami after Richt got the job here. He's a South Florida kid who's now solidly committed to the Canes.
