Romeo Finley is scheduled to announce his final decision tonight at 7 pm EST.
At 6-feet and 200 pounds, Finley is a 3-star safety prospect from Niceville High. He took January visits to each of the three schools still under consideration -- Miami, Georgia Tech, and Clemson.
Although the Canes offered him back in the spring, the old staff wasn't actively recruiting him like the new staff was. Mark Richt, Emphraim Banda, and Ron Dugans made a home visit to Finley a couple weeks ago, indicating they clearly want him in this class. Paul Johnson and a group of his assistants met with Finley last week, as did Dabo Swinney and a group of his assistants.
While the Canes made a good late run at him and could certainly still land him, his longtime relationship with Georgia Tech's staff seems to be something that will play a big role at the end of the day.
My official prediction is Georgia Tech but the Canes are hoping he'll announce in their favor tonight.
Cedric Wright is a safety already committed, while Finley, Henry Miller (currently committed to Pitt but expected to flip to Miami tomorrow), and Shyheim Carter (4 star expected to choose Alabama over Miami tomorrow) are still on the board.
