Miami Paradise Camp: WRs

Miami's Paradise Camp this past weekend was loaded with playmakers and the wide receiver position may have been the deepest of all. Read on for a complete breakdown.

Kevaughn Dingle committed to the Hurricanes back in March and he was one of the top performers at the event. At 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, the Miami Carol City standout also had offers from schools like NC State, Arkansas, and Louisville. Former UM cornerback Demarcus Van Dyke was at the camp and thought Dingle was impressive. "(He) is going to be special," Van Dyke said after the camp.

The Hurricanes were able to land another wide receiver commitment after the event when Evidence Njoku pledged to Miami. At 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds, Njoku is the younger brother of current UM tight end David Njoku. He comes from New Jersey and some of his other offers are from Penn State, Boston College, and Rutgers.

Daquris Wiggins committed to Miami way back in October of last year. Considered one of the top 2018 wide receiver prospects in the entire state, Wiggins came to the camp and put on a show. At 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, Wiggins has several major programs still recruiting him and he even took a visit to Alabama earlier this week. This one is far from over.

Warren Thompson committed to Miami earlier this year and then backed off the same day, saying he rushed to a decision. At 6-foot-4 and 185 pounds, the Seffner Armwood standout was extremely impressive at this camp and showed why schools like UM, Florida State, and Florida have already offered him.

Jerry Jeudy may have been the best wide receiver prospect at the entire camp. At 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, the Under Armour All-American goes to Deerfield Beach High and has Miami and Alabama at the top of his list.

Speaking of Miami and Alabama, those two schools are at the top of the list for 4-star Devonta Smith, a talented receiver from the state of Louisiana. At 6-foot-1 and 160 pounds, Smith showed up over the weekend showing strong interest in the Canes. You can't count out LSU here yet either.

Mark Pope is a talented 2018 wide receiver prospect who favors Alabama over Miami and several others right now. He's one of three national wide receiver recruits at Miami Southridge High right now. At 6-feet and 160 pounds, Pope was very impressive over the weekend.

Xavier Williams has close to 40 scholarship offers and the 2018 prospect from Chaminade Madonna High showed why. At 6-feet and 180 pounds he's drawn comparisons to Stacy Coley. Miami is definitely in the mix.

St Thomas Aquinas is loaded as usual and two of their top prospects are wide receivers and they both attended this camp. Mike Harley is a West Virginia commit and Elijah Moore is considering over a dozen offers including one from Miami. Both players performed well over the weekend.

Justin Watkins is a 2018 prospect from North Marion High. He committed to Florida State earlier this year but Miami has continued recruiting him and it paid off with a camp visit last weekend. He has over 20 offers and Miami's still in the mix, even though it won't be an easy flip.
