WR/DB Still High on UM

Earlier this summer Miami (Fla.) Killian standout wide receiver/cornerback J.R. Bryant announced his commitment to the University of Miami. He remains solid on that.

"I'm still committed and all that," Bryant said. "I still plan on being a Cane. That's just where my heart's at. Whenever you get a chance to follow a dream, you wanna take it and that's what I'm doing."

In the meantime, Bryant is excited about the upcoming season.

"Practice has been tight so far," he said. "We (are) looking straight right now. Edison, they better be ready (for the season opener against Killian). I know we will be."

Bryant is close friends with fellow UM prospects Dane Guthrie (who has a UM offer) and Emory Williams (who does not, yet).

"We've been tight for awhile," he said. "We all talked about going (to Miami) but we gotta see."

At 6-feet and 165 pounds, Bryant wants to help his team win in more ways than one this season.

"I wanna make plays all over the field," he said. "Offense, defense, it doesn't matter."

Bryant, who spends some of his free time working at a local McDonalds, is not sure whether he'll take some visits later in the year.
