Kaaya Talks Ga Tech

Read on to see what quarterback Brad Kaaya was saying on Tuesday afternoon as he prepares to take on Georgia Tech Saturday.

Brad Kaaya, Jr., Quarterback

On head coach Mark Richt’s success against Georgia Tech in the past…

“It’s good that he has experience against them, but as a team we aren’t focused on the past. It’s a new game for us and for them. We are not Georgia, so we are just focusing on this game and this year’s team.

On getting the first road game out of the way for the younger guys…

“We don’t really have that many young guys on the offense. Outside of Ahmmon Richards, our offense has played several big road games and most of our guys have played at Georgia Tech. And with Richards, he has already had the opportunity to play on the road against a very good Appalachian State team. So I believe we are ready, even though we know Bobby Dodd Stadium will get a very good turnout.

On time of possession against Georgia Tech…

“We just have to make every drive count and do well in the red zone. Georgia Tech has a great red zone defense, so that is a big focus for us. We just have to lock down in the red zone and finish drives. Even though it is not the exact same scheme on offense, this game will be similar to Appalachian State for us on offense, since Georgia Tech likes to do a lot of the same things on the offensive side of the ball. So it should be a similar atmosphere and game rhythm.”

On where the team stands after three games…

“I mean we really haven’t done anything yet. Obviously, it is great that we are ranked high and started the season 3-0. But the season pretty much starts now. Because, to be honest the last three weeks were supposed to happen. We were supposed to beat FAMU and FAU and really we were supposed to beat Appalachian State two weeks ago. So this weekend is when things get real and it is time for us to fully lock in.”
