Harris Named ACC D-Lineman of the Week

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami junior defensive end Trent Harris was named Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Lineman of the Week on Monday, as announced by the league office.

Harris is the second Hurricane to be recognized with a weekly honor this season by the ACC. Freshman wide receiver Ahmmon Richards was selected as the ACC’s Co-Rookie of the Week earlier this year.

The Winter Park, Fla., native did a little bit of everything for the Hurricanes in their 35-21 victory over Georgia Tech as he tied a career high with 7.0 tackles. His 6.0 solo tackles were a career high.

Harris also posted career-high totals in sacks (2.0) and tackles for loss (3.0). In addition, Harris’ first career forced fumble led to a scoop and score by linebacker Shaquille Quarterman.
