Tuesday Q&A with Joe Yearby

Read on to see what running back Joe Yeaby is saying a few days before the Canes take on Florida State.

On the impact of the possible weather this weekend could have on the play-calling…

“It will definitely affect the play-calling, especially if it is raining a lot. We will have to focus on holding on to the ball and avoiding turning over the football.”

On the importance of Saturday’s game…

“Every game is important. We understand the fact that this is a rivalry game, but we just have to come out and do what we have been doing each and every week, since the start of the season.”

On playing against a lot of high school friends and remaining composed…

“We just have to stay focused, work hard and stay tuned in on what the coaches are teaching us.”

On what a victory against Florida State would mean for the program…

“It would mean a lot to the program, since we haven’t beaten them in a few years, so a victory would help put us back on the map.”

On the prime time atmosphere…

“It is going to be crazy, even in comparison to the past couple years. With the renovated stadium along with how we have started our season, we know the atmosphere is going to be amazing. I always have liked playing in prime time, with the idea that all eyes are on us. So we just have to go out there and do what we have to do.”
