Texas Standout to Visit Miami

At 5-11 and 190, he's one of the state's fastest prospects. The Texas standout talks about his current list of favorites, his season so far, and talks about the Hurricanes. "They've looked real good so far," he said about Miami. "I like the way they play."

Houston (Sam Houston) standout running back/cornerback John Johnson is one of the fastest prospects in the state of Texas this season with legit 4.30 on track, or a 4.45 kid on grass. Through two games, Johnson has rushed 40 times for 249 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, he has 14 tackles and one interception. Inside the classroom, Johnson carries a 3.3 GPA and hasn't gotten his test scores back yet.

Which schools have called this month: Arkansas, Arizona, Miami, Florida, and LSU are the main ones so far.

Which schools have sent you scholarship offers in the mail: I have a bunch of offers. All of the ones I just mentioned have offered me.

If signing day were tomorrow, what's it looking like: Florida and Miami are my leaders followed by LSU and Arkansas.

Have you scheduled any visits yet: No sir. I'm going to visit my top four schools and probably one other.

Talk about Miami: They've looked real good so far. I like the way they play and could definitely see myself fitting in there.

Personally, it'll be interesting to see how much interest Johnson has in UM as the season progresses and vica-versa. I've never seen him play, but that size and speed is legit and he's claiming an impressive list of scholarship offers. Stay tuned for more.
