Wednesday Q&A with David Njoku

Read on to see everything tight end David Njoku is saying a few days before his team takes on Virginia.

On what the offense did differently last week than in previous weeks…

“Just making plays. The playmakers like Stacy Coley and Ahmmon Richards are tremendous athletes. When it comes down to it and your number is called, can you do it and that what we all did.”

On the younger players stepping up…

“I am very impressed. It’s a great blessing to see them do what they’re doing. People on defense, too, like Malek Young. It’s great to see young athletes pursuing their goals.”

On Virginia…

“I think they’re better than their record. I think they’re a pretty well coached team. The game should be interesting and fun. Very, very interesting.”

On the opportunity to become bowl eligible with the next win…

“We don’t like losing, no matter what the scenario is. Each game from here on out, we are going to try to work hard and win. I guess it’s exciting where the next one will acknowledge our bowl, so that’s exciting.”

On flipping into the end zone to score against Pitt last week…

“It wasn’t that pretty. I just felt like I wasn’t going to be denied. I just found a way that not many could stop. You can probably stop a truck stick or a juke, but I don’t think you can stop someone that big in the air. I just had a quick thought and just jumped.”
