WR Adds UM Offer

Washington (DC) Gonzaga standout wide receiver Doug Dutch was all set to begin his senior season, which was scheduled to start this weekend. However, a problem arose with the opponent.

"We just found out that the team we were supposed to play against on Saturday will not have enough players to play the game so I guess maybe it'll be a forefit," Dutch said.

The 6-1, 185-pound receiver didnt want to start the season that way.

"Of course you want to start with a win but I really wanted to play," he said. "I think we're going to go undefeated this year if we keep getting better and I cant wait to get things started."

Dutch, who also plays defensive back at the prep level, is being recruited to play wide receiver. His offer sheet continues to grow.

"Miami just offered me about two weeks ago," he said. "I was pretty excited about that. They said how they want me as a receiver and stuff."

The talented receiver said the Hurricanes are one of four schools that will get official visits.

"I'm going to Virginia on November 29 and Michigan on December 12," he said. "After that, I'll be taking visits to Florida and Miami but we haven't set dates for those yet - maybe after Christmas. Pittsburgh, Notre Dame, Stanford, and Maryland are the ones I'm looking at for my fifth visit."

Dutch, who ran a 4.28 at UVA's summer camp, said he does not have a single favorite. He did say what he liked about the Hurricanes.

"Miami's name just speaks for itself," he said. "Plus I have family in Miami. That will make it a little easier if I go there. They have a great program."
