Q&A with LSU Transfer George Brown

Read on to see what the LSU transfer is saying as the team prepares for the bowl game against West Virginia.

George Brown, Jr., R-Fr., OL

On the opportunity to be in the mix at tackle after playing on scout team this season…

“It’s a great feeling. I really like the team and where we are headed. I feel like the offensive line has gotten a lot better throughout the season and feel like we are going to do great things next year.”

On the challenges of knowing he had to redshirt this season after transferring…

“it’s definitely tough, but I just keep my mind focused. I talk to coach [Stacy] Searles and coach Gus [Felder] in the weight room and they help me stay focused and don’t let me get distracted.”

On how Miami compares to his previous school, LSU…

“It’s definitely a top program. Coach Gus [Felder] and coach [Tommy] Moffitt are both great strength coaches and they both taught me things and both help their teams improve.”

On why he chose to come to Miami…

“I knew Coach [Stacy] Searels. He was recruiting me out of high school, so just my connection with him, and Coach [Mark] Richt was recruiting me when I was thinking about going to Georgia. Just the coaches and I knew they needed some help so I am here to help.”

On the culture at Miami…

“It’s a beautiful campus. Great weather. If I was back home in Cincinnati right now it would be snowing. I definitely like the weather.”

On how the players at Miami compare to the players at LSU…

“Both have great teams. Both have talented teams. Everybody is just working together. I feel like they’re both great programs.”
