Wednesday A Big Recruiting Day for Canes

National Signing Day for the Class of 2017 was one week ago. Miami is already busy recruiting their 2018 class, and a lot happened on that front today. Read on for all the latest.

The first news of the day was that 5-star running back prospect Lorenzo Lingard made an unofficial visit today. At 6-feet and 180 pounds, Lingard was one of the first running backs Miami offered in the 2018 class. The University High (Orange City, FL) standout is already getting recruited nationally and today's visit indicates Miami is very much in the early race.

Several other key prospects say they landed offers from the Hurricanes today:

"Blessed to receive a offer from Miami" -- Jamarcus Chatman, a 3-star defensive end prospect from Rome, GA. At 6-foot-3 and 265 pounds, Chatman now has over a dozen offers including Rutgers and Wake Forest.

"Blessed to receive my 27th offer from the University of Miami!!!" -- Javon Wynn, a 4-star defensive end prospect from IMG Academy in Bradenton. At 6-foot-4 and 260 pounds, Wynn also has offers from schools like Michigan, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, and Alabama.

"Very excited to announce an offer from Miami!!!!" -- Aeneas Hawkins, a 4-star defensive tackle from Cincinnati. At 6-foot-3 and 270 pounds, Hawkins has over two dozen offers now including Florida State, Ohio State, Clemson, and Penn State.

"God is good...blessed and thankful to receive an offer from The University of Miami!" -- Bralen Taylor, a 3-star tight end prospect from the state of Texas. At 6-foot-7 and 220 pounds, Taylor now has five offers. Some of his others are from Oklahoma State and Baylor.
