Devin Interview

Earlier tonight I interviewed All-American wide receiver Devin Aromashodu. He has now scheduled four of his five official visits, adds a new school to his list, and names his current favorite. All of this information and more is included in this indepth interview with one of the nation's elite prospects.

At 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, Miami Springs wide receiver Devin Aromashodu has nine catches for 163 yards and three touchdowns so far this season. That's in a run-oriented offensive system. Inside the classroom, Aromashodu is a full qualifier. Devin ran a 4.48 at NIKE on grass and is now in the 4.45 range, or a 4.40 kid on track. And his vertical jump is currently 43 inches, measured at age 17 on Miami's scale, where Santana Moss broke the school record last year with a jump of 43 as a college senior preparing for the NFL. Santana was 5-9 and Devin's 6-2. In my own personal opinion, he's the No. 1 overall prospect in Florida.

Which schools have been calling this month: Florida State, Florida, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Rutgers, N.C. State, Northwestern, Michigan State, pretty much the same ones.

Florida's new to the list: Yeah, they stopped by the other day. Coach Huntley came by and then Coach Dixon called me, their wide receivers coach.

How many offers do you have now: About 20 or 25 now.

Have you scheduled any visits yet: I'm going to Notre Dame on November 16. I'm going to Northwestern on November 30. I'm probably going to Michigan State on November 3. I had to reschedule my visit to Ohio State. I'll probably visit in December, but I dont know if I want to take any visits that late in the season.

If signing day were tomorrow, what's it looking like: I'm still considering about seven schools - Notre Dame, Ohio State, N.C. State, Michigan State, UM, Florida, and Northwestern. I'm leaning to Miami right now, though.

Talk about Miami: They're looking good so far. I was going to attend the Washington game last week. I'm going to it in November. I'm also going to try to attend the Miami/Florida State game in a couple of weeks. Right now, Miami's my leader.

Personally, I love our chances. I've been telling people since April that Devin will become a Hurricane in February. It's just my gut feeling. He fits in so well at UM, I'd be real surprised if he ended up somewhere else. Stay tuned.
