Siler, who hasn't watched much football up to this point, said he watched a little this past weekend and saw many of the highlights. One play stood out to Siler.
"Did you see Greg Jones truck that (player) from North Carolina," he said. "Oh maaaan. They weren't even in the air. He flat out trucked his ass. I couldn't believe it."
Siler was so impressed by the play that he decided to give it a try during a practice this week. Unfortunately, it was unsuccessful.
"I tried it and I ended up fumbling," he said, laughing. "I couldn't hold on to it."
At 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, Siler will be going both ways this week. He ran for over 100 yards in his Kickoff Classic win over Palatka last week. He's also been busy talking to college coaches all week.
"USC called," he said of his current favorite. "Ohio State called me, Florida State, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Ole Miss, Miami, I heard from a bunch of coaches. It was a crazy week."
Siler has scholarship offers from nearly all of his favorites, except for Miami.
"They said they'll be watching me this year," he said. "I'm actually going down this weekend for the Gator game. That should be tight. I can't wait."
Siler still favors the Trojans.
"Me and Kenny (Ingram) are going to try taking our visit out there together," he said. "We haven't set anything up officially yet but we're going to real soon. I'm going to watch more football this year, go to a couple of games, and learn more about everyone."
When asked for a prediction on Saturday's game, Siler was pro-Miami.
"Man, come on," he said. "I went to the Orange & Blue game for Florida and it wasn't pretty. I've seen UCF and I think they could give 'em a game. Miami with that team, at home and at night. Come on now. All I know is that I'll be there."
