WR Back From UM Visit

Arlington (Texas) Grace Prep standout wide receiver Lance Leggett has been a busy man in recent weeks. After spending the summer in Florida with the rest of his family, Leggett and his father returned to their home in Texas.

"Things have been pretty crazy lately," Leggett said. "I got schoolwork, football, and all this traveling. That's all I do."

Leggett and his teammates are coming off an excellent performance on Friday night.

"We beat the eighth ranked team in Oklahoma 50-13," he said. "I scored three touchdowns but two of them got called back."

Leggett talked about the highlight of the night.

"I scored on this one play where I ran like 200 yards on the same play," he said. "I was cutting in and out, back in and back out. It was crazy, you shoulda saw it."

Leggett has spent the last two weekends on official visits -- Oklahoma last weekend and Miami this weekend.

"They were both great," he said. "I was in Miami not too long ago so I had already met the players and coaches. It was great watching them play though."

Leggett said he didn't do much aside from watching football.

"I didn't even go out after the game," he said. "I was real tired. I was gonna go out with Moss, the wide receiver, but I ended up going back to the hotel. The game was great. I kinda knew they were going to come back and they did."

The talented wide receiver said he saw several other recruits, including future UM quarterback Kirby Freeman.

"Kirby Freeman was there," he said. "I saw Kenny Ingram, there were a bunch of guys there."

Leggett was the only official visitor.

"I'm going to Florida (for an official visit) next week," he said. "I'm trying to get them (visits) out of the way early. After that, I don't have any set up but Florida State's trying to set something up. We haven't decided on a date yet."

The standout receiver said things still look good for the Hurricanes.

"They're still right up there," he said. "I'll know more after my visits but I like Miami a lot right now. I'm just going to keep enjoying the whole process."
